Gastritis is an inflammation in the mucosa of the stomach, and it is caused by a variety of factors, when the main one is a bacterial infection (the helicobacter pylori bacterium). Additional factors are related to an extreme physical stress situation such as a disease or a rough injury, wide-scale burns that are bound with heavy bleeding. The outburst of the inflammation can have chronic background that is caused by usage of certain medications, Crohn's disease or large amounts of alcohol consumption.
