Spanish saffron in an increased dosage of 40 mg and in delayed release capsules. The absorption of the saffron is very fast and therefore in order to receive a continuous effect, we developed saffron in delayed release capsules which allow high levels of saffron in the blood for longer term.
The use of the Spanish saffron is thanks to its high quality and to the high amount of active ingredients it contains, such as: kerosene, pyro kerosene and safranal. The saffron is a spice produced from dried stigmata (the female genitals of the flower) of the cultural turmeric flower. The saffron is known for thousands of years and its origin is in south west Asia. Since every flower only has 3 stigmata, hundreds of thousands of flowers are needed in order to produce 1 kilogram of saffron, while the process of its production is made by hand. During the cooking, part of the active ingredients of the saffron are being ruined, and that leaves taste but spares from the therapeutic features of the saffron.
The active ingredients of the saffron:
Crocin - A water soluble carotenoid mixture which gives the flower its color.
Picrocrocin – The substance which gives the flower its taste.
Safranal - The substance which gives the flower its smell.
